The Impact initiative
7 week virtual chesed fellowship

We provide an all encompassing, trackable learning experience designed to instill a deep rooted appreciation for chesed and ongoing community involvement.  Each virtual session combines live learning that promotes actionable results that students can do on their own. Let's turn mandated chesed hours into meaningful chesed for life.

session 1

Students begin by watching the introduction to our Find Your Passion: Elevate Your Game asynchronous short course designed to inspire a desire to make a difference through chesed.

They will participate in an interactive discussion about chesed and the importance of getting involved. - They will be given a week to watch the online interactive short course at their own pace and asked to to research inspiring individuals under the age of 20 that have impacted the world or their community in a meaningful way.

session 2

Engage in discussion about the people they find  inspiring and why.  We will discuss how they can tap into their own passion to make a difference and opportunities they could get involved in their community.  With the help of our social impact masterclass and ethical entrepreneur videos, we will talk about how students can develop an idea to impact their community or school as well as the basic steps to get it off the ground.  Including determining the need, developing a SWAT analysis, and  building a team

session 3

In this session, we will collectively assess the top ideas and build student "teams" around the ideas they are most interested in.   We know that many of them may not have a unique idea of their own and some may not want to work in a team.  We will work with each individual to assess and locate the right opportunity for impact. We will showcase video content from our masterclass equipping them with the tools to effectively launch their idea as well as show them how to develop a presentation to pitch their idea.

session 4

Students will be given 2 weeks to connect with their team and create a simple presentation that defines their project, its challenges and opportunities. They will have the opportunity to present their idea and get feedback. Our team will assess their work with the idea of how best we can provide support and required resources to keep them motivated and ensure their success. It's important to note that our facilitator will be available to answer questions and provide support at any time pre or post the sessions.  We will also check in with them to make sure they are active and motivated.

session 5

Students will be given 2 weeks to connect with their team and create a simple presentation that defines their project, its challenges and opportunities. They will have the opportunity to present their idea and get feedback. Our team will assess their work with the idea of how best we can provide support and required resources to keep them motivated and ensure their success.

session 6

Our last live session will focus on next steps, encouragement and ongoing support.  We will feature an inspiring speaker from our mentor pool such as Orly Wahba, Dylan Segal, Avi Shiffrin, Ben Stein, Rick Hodes and others. We could also include a speaker from your school. Our last session is by no means our last.  Students can enroll in our WIZDM.org community platform where they will find up to date resources and continued support to ensure that their purposeful community connection is deep rooted, ongoing, and something they will take with them throughout their life.
